About QA4Tech

Independent expertise where quality, technology, and regulated operations meet

QA4Tech is a founder-led consulting and auditing company helping regulated organizations make confident decisions about technology, quality, suppliers, data, and artificial intelligence.

Abstract illustration of connected technology, quality, and human judgment.

A connected perspective

We support pharmaceutical, biotechnology, clinical research, medical technology, software, cloud, data, and AI companies operating in environments where innovation must be matched by control, evidence, and accountability.

Our work brings together technology expertise, quality assurance, auditing, validation, vendor oversight, governance, and executive-level judgment. We help clients understand not only whether documented controls exist, but whether those controls are appropriate, effective, and capable of supporting the way a system or service is actually used.

Why we exist

Technology has become central to nearly every regulated process.

Clinical trials rely on interconnected platforms, specialized technology vendors, cloud services, electronic data flows, automated decisions, and increasingly AI-enabled tools. Pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations depend on external providers for systems and services that directly affect data integrity, operational continuity, regulatory compliance, and, ultimately, patient safety.

At the same time, many traditional assurance approaches were designed for simpler and more predictable environments.

A checklist may confirm that a procedure exists. A validation package may demonstrate that tests were performed. A supplier may provide certificates, policies, and carefully prepared presentations. None of these, on its own, proves that the overall control environment is reliable.

Meaningful assurance requires a broader view.

It requires understanding the intended use of the technology, the regulated process it supports, the people who operate it, the data it creates or changes, the suppliers on which it depends, and the decisions made when something does not go according to plan.

QA4Tech was established to provide that perspective.

Our approach

We see the system behind the evidence

Our approach is grounded in context.

We look beyond individual documents and isolated controls to understand how technology, process, people, data, suppliers, and governance work together.

  1. 01

What is this technology actually being used to do?

  2. 02

Which risks are material in this particular context?

  3. 03

Where does critical data originate, and how can it change?

  4. 04

Which activities are controlled by the supplier, and which remain the client’s responsibility?

  5. 05

How are exceptions, incidents, and unexpected results handled?

  6. 06

Can the organization demonstrate that its controls work in practice?

  7. 07

Is the available evidence sufficient to support a defensible decision?

Different companies and industries may also use different terminology for similar controls. We do not assume that unfamiliar language means weak control—or that familiar terminology guarantees quality. We assess the substance, effectiveness, and suitability of the control environment.

This ability to connect technical details with regulated processes and business consequences is central to our work.

Practical, proportionate assurance

We believe rigor and practicality belong together.

Quality systems should provide clarity, consistency, and confidence. They should not create unnecessary complexity or documentation that exists only to satisfy a template.

Our work is risk-based and proportionate to the intended use, the technology, the organization, and the potential impact of failure.

The objective is not compliance for the sake of paperwork. It is reliable control, informed decision-making, and sustained confidence in systems, data, suppliers, and operations.

We help clients build and evaluate controls that are:

  • clear enough to be understood;
  • strong enough to be defensible;
  • practical enough to be followed;
  • scalable enough to support growth;
  • and flexible enough to accommodate technological change.

What we do

Closely connected areas of assurance and advice.

Across all of these services, our role is to help clients identify what matters, understand what the evidence demonstrates, and decide what should happen next.

He has worked at the intersection of technical teams, quality organizations, clinical operations, vendors, auditors, and senior management. This combination makes it possible to translate between disciplines that often approach the same risk from very different perspectives.

Clients receive direct senior involvement throughout the engagement.

Analysis, critical decisions, and final conclusions are not passed through layers of junior staff.

Delivery model

Independent, but built to scale

QA4Tech is intentionally independent and specialist-led.

This allows us to provide direct advice, maintain professional objectivity, and adapt the engagement to the client’s actual needs rather than fitting every assignment into a standard consulting model.

Some projects require a focused assessment by one experienced specialist. Others require additional capacity or expertise across areas such as clinical operations, data science, cybersecurity, validation, regulatory affairs, or specialized technologies.

Where appropriate, QA4Tech can work with selected freelance consultants and subject matter experts. Their involvement is managed through defined responsibilities, confidentiality requirements, quality expectations, and clear oversight.

The client retains a single accountable consulting partner while gaining access to broader expertise when the engagement requires it.

How we work

Principles that keep assurance useful.

Our work is guided by several principles.

01

Understand the context

A control cannot be evaluated properly without understanding the process, technology, users, data, and risks it is intended to support.

02

Follow the evidence

Conclusions should be clear, traceable, and defensible. We distinguish objective evidence, requirements, risk, and professional judgment.

03

Challenge constructively

Independent assurance should not simply confirm what an organization already believes. It should identify assumptions, test explanations, and help leaders see issues more clearly.

04

Keep people accountable

AI and automation can support analysis, classification, monitoring, and review. Qualified people must remain responsible for significant interpretations and decisions.

05

Focus on what matters

Not every gap has the same significance. We prioritize issues according to context, risk, and potential impact.

06

Leave the organization stronger

A successful engagement should do more than produce a report. It should improve understanding, strengthen capability, and support better decisions after the work is complete.

International delivery

Based in Germany. Working internationally.

QA4Tech is based in Germany and works primarily in English with clients and partners internationally.

Engagements may be delivered remotely, on-site, or through a hybrid model. International travel is available for audits, assessments, supplier visits, workshops, project kickoffs, inspections, and critical meetings.

We can work directly with clients, as an independent consulting company, as a subcontracted specialist, through an agency or international contracting platform, or as part of a broader consulting team.

Remote

Focused collaboration across locations and time zones.

On-site

In-person delivery where the work requires direct access.

Hybrid

A proportionate combination shaped around the engagement.

Looking ahead

Regulated organizations should not have to choose between innovation and control.

AI, automation, cloud platforms, advanced analytics, and connected digital systems can create significant value—but only when organizations understand how those technologies behave, where their risks lie, and how accountability will be maintained.

QA4Tech helps clients move forward with ambition, evidence, and confidence.

Technology moves fast. Accountability must move with it.
